Ottawa Families Against APR (OFAA) allows you to connect with other parents and share experiences. School Boards are under tremendous pressure from anti-Palestinian groups. By joining OFAA, you gain the skills to navigate the system and access tools and resources to represent your children better and support their success. Through OFAA, you can amplify your voice and play a significant role in holding the district board accountable, knowing that your contribution can shape a positive future for your children.
The core team comprises volunteer parents who have stepped forward to help coordinate and organize the OFAA's work. No names will be shared publicly to protect their identities, as there have been numerous instances of individuals who promote pro-Palestinian support or expose anti-Palestinian racism being subjected to smearing and doxxing.
OFAA activities and services aim to build well-informed members through sharing resources and holding community sessions.
OCDSB is the largest school board in the region, and we have the largest student population, which will allow our group to be more effective. Other school boards are expected to follow the changes introduced by OCDSB. Families with students on other boards will benefit from the information and resources. As more families join our group, we will adjust our efforts and activities.
